Services

The following are the services provided by the court. In using the service, please bear in mind that the court is actually operated by me, alone. Be patient and be polite in your dealings with the 'court staffs'. â€‹If you have any queries pertaining to any of the services listed below, please contact me personally at my mobile no. or you may email me at shahrulmizan@iium.edu.my.

01

E-Filing

The system allows case documents, such as pleadings, summons, motions and petitions, to be filed with the court using a computer and Internet connection. This process gives the courts a way to easily manage these files electronically.

Filing a document in the court's online system requires a login and password. If this is your first time, you need to sign up into the system to obtain your court password. The password will be available for all members in your mock law firm. Hence, one law firm is needs to sign up only once and the same password is to be used by all members in the firm whenever any of them needs to file any document into the court system.

02

File Search

Any party in a case and/or the law firm that represents that party in that case may request to view the case file by filling out the required court forms. All files must be viewed within the records section of the court's business office. Files cannot be removed from the court.  Any person who willfully removes, destroys or alters any court record is subject to the penalties imposed by the court.

If you wish to conduct a file search for any case files under you, you may come to the court's counter when it's opened and do it there. Please take note that you are to have the required forms with you and please make sure that you have made the payment for the file search service and you have the mock receipts with you as proof of payment.

Obtain Copy of Documents From Court's File

The Court does not send out court files electronically or by fax. If you need to obtain a copy of any court documents (from a case that you are handling), you need to get them yourselves. So, if you need any court documents from the file, please don't come knocking on my door, whining like a child. I will treat you like a lawyer all throughout this semester and you are to act like one. If you need any documents from the court's case file, you need to follow the procedure. First, you must make sure that you have the right case number. Once you have located the case number, go to the courthouse where the file is located.  Copy requests must be made to the clerk at least 30 minutes prior to the business office closing.

  • Provide the court staff at the counter with the case number.

  • Required forms and receips must be presented to view case files.

  • Order copies from at 50¢ per page. (A page is defined as one side of a document.)

  • Copy requests may require a minimum of three court days to process. You will be contacted by court staff when your copy request has been completed, or given a pick-up date at the time of your request.  You must pay for the copies before they are made.
